... --Mrs. William BAILEY of Birmingham, mother of Juanita BAILEY of this city, passed away, according to word received here today. Miss Minnie BAILEY, teacher at No. 4 school, east of the city, is also a daughter.

MRS. BAILEY IMPROVES

The children of Mrs. William BAILEY were called to Birmingham yesterday, because she was at the point of death and friends in the city heard that she had died. This report, furnished to the Ledger, proved untrue and its publication is greatly regretted. Mrs. BAILEY is somewhat improved today.

DEATHS

MRS. WM. BAILEY

Mrs. William BAILEY of near Birmingham passed away at 8:30 o'clock this morning at her home following an illness of several weeks duration.

The body was brought to the Campbell Funeral Home. Services will be held from the Free Methodist church in Fairfield at 2:30 Monday afternoon.

Mrs. BAILEY is survived by her husband and the following children: Clarence, Francis and Lillian at home, Mrs. John McINTIRE, Mrs. Harold HARRISON, Mrs. Jay HOWARD and Juanita BAILEY of Fairfield and Miss Minnie BAILEY, east of the city.

OBITUARY

MRS. WILLIAM BAILEY

Ada Brown ,daughter (sic) of John W. and Maranda J. HOUGH, was born in Henry county, Iowa, December 9, 1874, and passed away January 21, 1933, at her home one and one-half miles west of Birmingham, Iowa.

Her early childhood was spent on a farm in Kansas, later moving with her parents to Fairfield.

On July 11, 1899 she was married to William A. BAILEY who, with the following children are left to mourn her passing: Minnie Marie, Frances viola, Clarence William, Lillian Maranda, at home; Mrs. Rosa Alberta HOWARD, Mrs. Margaret Beatrice McINTIRE, Mrs. Sarah Emaline HARRISON and Juanita Pearl of Fairfield. She is also survived by the following brothers: Arthur A. HOUGH, Sedalia, Missouri; Ernest E. HOUGH, Fresno, California, and Clarence D. HOUGH of Hayward, California.

Mrs. BAILEY was converted in early womanhood, uniting with the Free Methodist church of Fairfield, about 1896 in which she has remained a faithful member.

In 1906 Mrs. BAILEY, with her family, moved to California, later returning to Fairfield where they remained until in November, 1929, when they moved to the farm where she resided at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held in the Free Methodist church of Fairfield, Monday, January 23rd, 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. M. Cunningham, of Marion, Iowa, assisted by Rev. D. C. Eddy of Fairfield. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Williams of Birmingham sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Will the Circle Be Broken."

Many beautiful floral tributes gave silent testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held.

Casket attendants were Marion Fishburne, Clarence Bates, Quay Miller, Milo Quackenbush, Earl and Ernest BAILEY. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Admin note: Buried in Lot Old.P.278. Husband William subsequently married Grace Coffman; he died in 1949 and is buried with Ada. Grace died in 1972 and is buried in Van Buren Co., IA.
