Leonard Wilie WELDAY was born near Libertyville June 18, 1884, son of John J. and Samantha J. WELDAY.... When his parents moved to Fairfield Mr. WELDAY made his home here for probably two years, returning to the farm near Libertyville upon the death of the father about a year ago.

He is survived by his mother, two brothers and one sister, Ralph R. WELDAY of Burlington and James W. WELDAY and Miss Jessie M. WELDAY of this city.... Interment in the Fell Cemetery....

Mr. WELDAY and a farmer friend, Frank McBride, were engaged in hauling some brush to the barn yard. They had been working all day and shortly after 4 o'clock concluded that would be the last load which they would make that day. They drove the team into the barn yard and in attempting to turn, the horses started forward suddenly, causing Mr. WELDAY to lose his balance and fall from the bobsled to the ground. He fell backward, hitting the ground squarely on his back and head.... Physicians who were called say his death was probably due to concussion of the brain.
