Pg. 3, Col. 2--In Fairfield, Iowa, on Sunday morning May 2d, 1863, Mr. Grinder WILSON, in the 71st year of his age.
Mr. WILSON was born in Blunt Co., North Carolina, in 1792. From thence he emigrated to Tennessee; from thence to Kentucky, near Lexington, thence to Wayne Co., Ind., and from thence to Iowa in the year 1837. He settled near Mt. Pleasant. In 1843 he removed to this county. For fifty years Mr. WILSON has been a devout christian.-- His connection with the Methodist Church has been of the most cordial and sincere character. His accustomed seat in the Church was always filled on Sunday and at the Thursday night prayer meetings, and his absence will be deeply felt. To all he was kind and pleasant, and to the little children he was a great friend. No man could say harm of him. He lived and died in the service of his Master, and has gone to his long home where pain and sorrow enter not, and the weary are at rest. He leaves a beloved widow and several children to mourn his loss, but they have the blessed assurance that he has gone to a better world.
