Jacob Nelson SLIMMER was born in Ross County, Ohio, Feb. 7, 1844, and died at his home in Libertyville Nov. 5, aged 71 y. 28 d. (sic - 71y 8m 28d). Illness of several weeks. Married Mary Isadore BALDING Feb. 21, 1861.

Six children, two preceded him in death. He came to Libertyville when nine years of age and has resided there ever since. Enlisted in 19th Iowa Infantry and served three years. Kind father and loving husband, and will be greatly missed in that town and home.

Leaves widow and four children, Mrs. Lee ROLAND of Muscatine; Edward, Roll and Jennie who are at home... Interment in Fell Cemetery.
