Calvin L. SCOVEL, 70, former Jefferson County resident, died Thurs. at Holliston, Mass. Was driving his car when he suffered a fatal heart attack.... Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

Born Feb. 10, 1896, at Libertyville, son of Loren L. and Alta CLINKENBEARD SCOVEL. Grad. FHS and Parsons College (1918). Veteran of World War I, member of Hospital Unit R.. Married Byrl STEPHENSON Dec. 17, 1920; she died Jan. 12, 1962.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. John W. FORDYCE, Holliston, Mass., and Calvin L. SCOVEL, Jr., Hampstead, N.H., and six grandchildren. Four sisters also survive: Mrs. Walderman NOLL, Berea, Ky.; Mrs. Waldo E. MAY, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Joe L. HERMANSON, Lindsborg, Kan.; and Mrs. V. S. SAMUELSON, Fairfield. Until his recent retirement, SCOVEL was eastern sales manager for the Continental Casualty Co. of Boston, Mass.. Member Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and American Legion.

ATTEND RITES FOR SCOVEL.

Several out-of-town relatives were here to attend last rites for Calvin SCOVEL of Holliston, Mass., on Tuesday afternoon. Here for the services were his daughter, Mrs. John W. FORDYCE and husband Major John W. FORDYCE and children of Holliston, Mass., his son, Calvin L. SCOVEL, Jr., of Hampstead, N.H.; his sisters, Mrs. Waldemar NOLL and husband, Dr. Waldemar NOLL of Berea, Ky.; and Mrs. Joseph HERMANSON of Lindsborg, Kan.; and his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd L. FRY of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard SCOVEL of Chariton; Mr. and Mrs. Harold METZ and daughter of Clinton, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome G. KURTZ of Pleasant Plain.
