LIBERTYVILLE -- Mary A. ERSKINE was born March 13, 1830, near Philadelphia, Penn.. She was united in marriage with George RAINES of Chillicothe, Ohio, Aug. 19, 1852, and to this union was born five children: Alice M. McCLAIN of this place, Alfred W. of Rogersville, Mo., Sarah of Libertyville, Thomas B. and George W. of Goodland, Kans., all of whom were present at the funeral. She also leaves nine grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren.

They came with their family to Libertyville in Dec., 1857, where their children grew to maturity. Her husband was a soldier of the Civil War and died March 14, 1863. She made her home in Kansas from 1889 to 1896, and has lived with her daughter ever since until her death, May 28, 1915. She united with the Methodist Church in her 13th year... She has been greatly afflicted during the last 19 years of her life and death came as a welcome release. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. H. C. Druse and interment was in the Fell Cemetery.
