BATAVIA, IOWA. Arthur PUMPHREY, lifetime resident of the Batavia community, passed away about noon Fri. at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

Age 73, born Oct. 26, 1887, in Jefferson County, son of Frank F. and Mary E. STEWART PUMPHREY. He had farmed in the Batavia community all of his life. Married Hazel TAYLOR May 12, 1915. She survives. He was a member of the Batavia Methodist Church.

Also survived by a brother, Wilbur PUMPHREY, Batavia, and a sister, Mrs. Verda CONLEY, DeWitt, Iowa.
