Death came late Wednesday afternoon to Mrs. Glenn PEEBLER, 72, retired school teacher in the Fairfield Community School System.

She passed away at 5:45 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital after a lingering illness.

Last rites will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis R. Douglass officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Esther PEEBLER was born June 5, 1896, in Bengal, Ind., daughter of the Rev. James and Ida DAVISSON McCAIN. She graduated from high school in Lawton, Okla., and attended State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls.

She was united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1923, at Marne, Iowa, to Glenn PEEBLER, who survives. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and taught in the Fairfield schools for a number of years. She had served as a substitute teacher since 1943.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Richard, Des Moines; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lola DREWER, Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by one sister.
