John W. PANCOAST, a man well known to Jefferson County people in general, died at the home of his brother-in-law, Robert F. RATCLIFF, in this township on Thursday last, in the 47th year of his age.

He was born in Fayette County, Ohio, but came to this county with his parents in 1853 and has since resided on the home farm near Libertyville. He had been a cripple since early childhood, an attack of meningitis at the age of three years leaving him almost helpless. Death resulted from heart disease. The remains were interred in the Libertyville Cemetery Friday.
