Margaret Louise McCLAIN, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. McCLAIN of this city, passed away at the Sunnyslope Sanitarium in Ottumwa Sunday, October 4. Her death came at 8:30 a.m.

She had been a patient at the Sanitarium for the past four months. She underwent an appendectomy at the Ottumwa hospital on September 25 from which she never recovered.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Ref. A. F. Keast. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Margaret Louise McCLAIN was born in Fairfield on May 25, 1914 and made her home in this city all of her life. She graduated from the Fairfield high school with the class of 1932 and attended Parsons college for three years. While in school she was a popular student and took an active part in extra school activities. She was a member of Elzevir sorority while a student at Parsons.

Since attending school she had been employed in Denver and more recently at the Book Nook here in Fairfield before ill health made it necessary for her to terminate her employment.

She leaves her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine THOMAS, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Gladys BALL Fairfield; two brothers, Charles, Ottumwa and Glenn Chicago; and her grandmother, Mrs. R. T. McCLAIN of this city.
