Page 3, Column 8The death of Joseph Benson McCLAIN, from general debility, occurred at his home near Libertyville, Sat., May 19, 1888, at 11 o'clock a.m.. Buried in the Cemetery near that place last Sabbath at 3 p.m..
Born in Clermont County, Ohio, Aug. 13, 1819, one of 12 children, eight of whom are living -- six sisters and two brothers. Geo. W. McCLAIN of Buchanan Township is the only brother in this county. M.E. Ch..
Came to Jefferson County in 1842, locating and remaining on the farm where he died. On 24 July 1851 married Miss Lucinda BETTERTON, by whom he had nine children, six girls and three boys; five daughters and one son still living....
