F. J. HOFFMAN, 76, lifetime resident of Jefferson County and a resident of Libertyville for the past 28 years; died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson County Hospital. Hoskins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

Born May 28, 1871, near Libertyville, son of the late Henry and Margaret HARMON HOFFMAN; married Dec. 22, 1897, at Batavia to Kate L. WAGNER who survives. Was engaged in farming most of his life and moved to Libertyville in 1920. Mr. and Mrs. HOFFMAN celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Dec. 22, 1947.

Also survived by children: Mrs. Jessie GALLUP, Libertyville; Mrs. Inez GLOTFELTY, Denison; Mrs. Zelda BUCK, Mt. Morris, Ill., Mrs. Margaret LUVAAS, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Pearl DAVIS, Mt. Morris, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 2 greatgrandchildren; three brothers: John F., Hutchinson, Kansas; Sam, Horton, Kansas; Frank of Birmingham; one sister, Mrs. J. Lewis McCLEARY, Libertyville. One son and a sister preceded him in death.
