Well-known farmer; had spent entire life in this county
Funeral services were held Monday at Hoskins Funeral Home for J. Irvine (sic) GLOTFELTY, 67, well-known retired farmer who passed away Saturday at his home, 104 West Madison street.
Services were in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. GLOTFELTY had been in failing health the last two years and seriously ill the last four months.
He was born in Iowa on Oct. 27, 1871, the son of James and Margaret CUNNINGHAM GLOTFELTY. He spent his entire life in Jefferson county, having moved from the farm near Libertyville to his home in Fairfield in 1925.
Mr. GLOTFELTY was a member of the board of directors of the Libertyville Savings Bank the last 25 years.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Ila, at home; one son Bernard of Des Moines; two grandchildren, David Lee and Margaret Kay of Des Moines, and two brothers, W. N. GLOTFELTY of Libertyville, and L. R. GLOTFELTY of Mount Morris, Illinois.
