Isaiah Mac FRY, a well known resident of southeastern Jefferson county, died at the home of a brother, Oren L. FRY, in Cedar township Sunday evening. He had been ill for several months from tuberculosis. Mr. FRY was a son of Mr. and Mrs. David FRY, pioneer settlers of Jefferson county. He was born in the neighborhood where he died, and all his life had been spent in that vicinity. He was fifty-eight years old (sic - 55 years). He was a farmer by occupation, a man of many excellent qualities and with many friends in the community where he had lived for more than half a century. Funeral services were held Monday at the Wooster church and they were largely attended. The body was interred in the Wright cemetery.

Isaiah McNear FRY was born November 12th, 1851, at the FRY homestead in Jefferson county, Iowa, and died at the same place, now the home of a brother, O. L. FRY, April 14th, 1907. He spent his childhood and manhood at the old homestead which was so dear to him. By the passing out of the life of this good man the brothers and sisters lose a true brother and the neighborhood a kind friend who was always ready to lend a helping hand to any in need. When he knew that he must pass from this life he said he had done what good he could and he was ready to go. It can truly be said the earth is better for such lives as this conscientious and honorable man had lived. Three brothers and two sisters are left to mourn his loss -- Jairus G., Oren L. and Warren FRY of this county, Mrs. M. WATKINS and Mrs. J. M. WILLIAMS of Belleville, Kan. All were with him during his illness to do what kind hands could for him. The funeral service was conducted April 16th at the Wooster church by Reb. G. B. Phillips, and the body was interred in the Wright cemetery. A large number of relatives and friends was present to pay their last respects and extend their sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
