Jacob GLOTFELTY was born November 10, 1843 in Somerset County. Pennsylvania, and died May 1 1925, age 81 years, 9 months and 9 days. At the age of two years moved to Iowa with his parents and lived at Winchester, Van Buren county about two years. Then they moved to a farm near Libertyville and the remainder of his life has been spent in Iowa excepting five years residence in Michigan.

On February 21, 1861, he enlisted in Company F, of the Third Iowa Cavalry which was mustered out on August 9, 1965. In 1874 he was married to Margaret HUITT, and to this union were born four children. One died in infancy and the other three, Mrs. Annie QUILLEN, Walter, Charley and the mother have preceded him in death. Four grandchildren, Mrs. Lee ODUM and Ernest GLOTFELTY of Fairfield, Marshall and Ruth QUILLEN and one great grandchild of Mt. Pleasant, are left to mourn his loss, besides three brothers, one sister and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Later he was married to Sarah WELLS who passed away February, 1918 (sic - December 8, 1917). Afterward he was married to Sarah TEMPLE who survives him.

Funeral services were held from the home in Libertyville, Sunday May 3, at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. F. M. Garrett with burial in the Fell cemetery.
