OBITUARY

MRS. MARVIN LOUGHLIN (sic - LAUGHLIN)

Emily, eldest of the twelve children of J. C. and Anna FERREL, was born on December 22, 1891, at New London, Iowa. When a child, her parents moved to a farm S.W. of Libertyville and she has resided near to this neighborhood since. She passed away at the family home, 6 miles N.E. of Keosauqua on Sunday afternoon, July 19, 1942, when 50 years of age.

She was married to Marvin LAUGHLIN on December 24, 1914, and has lived happily in this union since. Three children were born to them all of whom survive. With her sorrowing husband and children, Mrs. Milford HEDGER of Batavia, Virgil of the U. S. Army Air Corps stationed at San Antonio, Texas, and Violet of Fairfield; there are also surviving her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. FERREL of Libertyville, Ia., her brothers and sisters, James FERREL of Libertyville, Iowa, Mrs. Irma STUMP of Libertyville, Ia., Mrs. Esther STUMP and Frank FERREL of Douds, Floyd FERREL of Fairfield, Mrs. Elsie CRAWFORD and Lloyd FERREL of Libertyville, Iowa, Ivyl FERREL of Batavia, Robert FERREL, Mrs. Elaine BONNETT and Mrs. Evelyn BONNETT of Libertyville. A brother Wilbur Stanly preceded her in death 45 years. Besides these there are a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives with a wide circle of friends who will mourn her passing.

She was a member of the Mount Zion Methodist Church and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She has been ill for the past year and a half growing worse in the last six weeks. She passed quietly away surrounded by loved ones at 3:30 last Sunday.

Funeral services were held from the Mt. Moriah church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church of Fairfield, Iowa. The hymns were sung by Mr. Ira Davis of Packwood, Ia., with Mrs. MacChesney at the piano. Pallbearers were Leonard, Lester and Harold LAUGHLIN, Frank Berg, Lew Williams and John Seifkin. The funeral arrangements were made by the Pedrick Funeral Home of Douds, Iowa.

The remains were interred in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
