Floyd EYESTONE Taken In Death

Graveside services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug 26, for Floyd EYESTONE, former resident of the Fairfield community who died Thursday at Rock Island, Ill.

He passed away at 10:50 a.m. yesterday at the St. Anthony Hospital in Rock Island following an illness of the past three weeks.

Last rites will be held at the Wheelan Funeral Home in Rock Island at 9 a.m. Saturday after which the body will be brought to Fairfield where graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. The Rev. Roy Burrill will officiate.

Floyd EYESTONE, 84, was born at Martinsburg, Iowa, on Aug. 16, 1883, the son of Theodore and Molly McCREERY EYESTONE. He was reared and educated in the Martinsburg community.

On Dec. 18, 1907, he was married to Ethel BEALE who survives. They operated a farm in the Fairfield area until 1944 at which time they moved to Rock Island to make their home with a daughter and family. In recent years EYESTONE has been employed as custodian at a grade school in Rock Island. He was a member of the First Methodist Church there.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Milton WERNER, Rock Island; one son, Bernard, Waterloo; two grandsons; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank DUSTIN, Fairfield, and Mrs. Bess ARMSTRONG, Libertyville; and a brother, Fred EYESTONE, Nashua, Minn.

He was preceded in death by one brother and a sister.
