Mrs. Mayme L. (DAVIS) SWANSON, 82, native of Jefferson County, died Mon. at Fairfield Convalescent Home. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Behner Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 13, 1888, near Libertyville, daughter of Harmar and Maude DAVIS. Rural school teacher before her marriage to Richard (sic - Carl Richard) SWANSON. They lived in Albia, Centerville and New Sharon until they retired from business in 1957 and moved to Woodbury, N.J. They returned to Iowa in 1964 and she moved to Fairfield after husband's death in 1966.

Survived by one son, Merrell E. SWANSON, Bellevue, Wash., and two grandsons. One son and two sisters are deceased. She was OES and DAR.
