ANDREW J. JOHNSON, 80, OF FAIRFIELD, IS LAID TO HIS REST

Fairfield, Ia., Dec. 7- The funeral of Andrew J. Johnson, aged 80 years, whose death occurred Sunday evening in his home 10 miles southeast of Fairfield, was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Upland church, near Lockridge. The Rev. E.C. Vanderpool of Lockridge conducted the service and burial was in the cemetery nearby. Mr. Johnson had been in failing health for several weeks. His wife passed away the latter part of July and since then he has steadily failed.

Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, Oct. 6, 1846, and when 11 years of age came with his parents to America, coming directly to Iowa. He had resided near Lockridge for many years. The following children survive: Emil C. Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Joseph Nelson, Frank O., Edward C. and Victor, all of Lockridge.
