Monday, October 7, 1935…The resolution of September 30th, to appoint A.M. Clow to succeed Ben Blakely, as member of the Soldiers’ Relief Commission, was approved.
The resolution of September 30th, to appoint Mrs. Geo Bonfield to succeed W.C. Jones, as Hospital Trustee, was approved.
The petition of F.A. Sable to have his property in Linby valued in conformity with other vacant lots of similar description and value was read and granted. The valuation being reduced from $272 to $32 on account of the building being moved off in 1933.
A grant of $72 per year to Elizabeth Yount, on her petition for blind pension was approved.
The petition of Dwight H. Messenger of Lockridge for Soldiers’ exemption was granted.
The petition of Alzina Robertson for suspension of last half of 1934 taxes on Railroad Addition E ˝, lot 2, all lot 1, block 7, Fairfield City amounting to $15.81 was granted.
The petition of Emma B. Manchester for soldiers’ exemption on the D.R. Beatty estate was denied.
…Under provisions of the Iowa Code of 1935, Sections 3950, 6950 G1, 6951 and 6952, the taxes of the following recipients of Old Age Pension were suspended: Jane McDonald, Perlee, 1934 tax $1.12, Everett B. Lane, Fairfield, 1934 tax $40.49, Samuel & Emily Sykes, Fairfield, second half, $8.43, Ross McCarty, Fairfield, second half 1934 tax $14.37 and Mary J. Moss, Batavia, 1934 tax $8.52.
