WANTS INFORMATION ABOUT GRANDFATHER. Burl J. Haight, 701 Oberlin St., Palo Alto, Calif. has asked the Ledger to aid him in finding the old home of his grandfather, John Cassiday who lived near Fairfield 1840-1848. He moved to Poweshiek County.....David Cassiday married Elizabeth Stanley in Jefferson County July 15 1845. He died in 1857 and all trace of Elizabeth has been lost, by our branch of the family. She had five children, William, Sarah Naomi, Albert, Alice and Joseph.....Following is a list of names of old settlers who were neighbors of Mr. Cassaday.....
