Aug. 15, 1966 letter from Doris Dockstader Rooney, 1918 La Mesa Drive, Dodge City, Kansas 67801 (granddaughter of A. T. Rodgers)

“We knew that Elizabeth (Wiley) Noel and her second husband Reuben Casada died in Deedsville (Merrimac) in 1845 shortly after coming from Tennessee.....Elizabeth (Wiley) Noel was the mother of my great-grandfather, Quin Morton Noel, who married Sarah Casada. Sarah Casada was the daughter of Reuben Casada and his first wife (name unknown). Sarah (Casada) Noel was the mother-in-law of Alexander Townsley Rodgers (my maternal grandfather). Sarah died in Beloit (Kans.) 21 Mar. 1897, and was buried in Trenton, Iowa. I presume Quin Morton Noel, her husband, was buried there also. He died 14 April 1877. Quin and Sarah were married in Fairfield, Iowa in 1846.”
