FOUR CORNERS. H. G. SHRINER of Fairfield is making a painting of the blacksmith shop of C. J. LINQUIST to take to the World’s Fair at St. Louis next year to compete for the gold medal of the world. He visited about 25 other shops and could find none that suited him better than this one. FLORA LAMSON is also doing some painting.

Note: The large, 8x10 ft. painting, “Old Brush Creek Blacksmith Shop,” now (1965) on display in the foyer of the Fairfield Public Library, was exhibited in the Iowa Building at the World’s Fair in St. Louis.
