The children of Lowell and Helen VANDER HAMM announce their parents will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday.
The couple met at and graduated from Iowa State University. They married Sept. 24, 1949, in Burlington.
Mr. VANDER HAMM retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation as a civil engineer for the 5th District, Fairfield. Mrs. VANDER HAMM is a homemaker and worked numerous years at Ben Franklin in Fairfield.
The VANDER HAMMs have three children: Susan STROBL of Hagerstown, Maryland, Sherry OGREN of Lone Tree and Scott VANDER HAMM of Brooklyn, New York. The couple also has two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine great-stepgrandchildren and two great-great-stepgrandchildren.
