PORTER celebrates birthday

Wayne "Jack" Ellison PORTER of Fairfield is turning 90 years old today.

Mr. PORTER was born April 29, 1924, in Anamosa.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He has resided in Fairfield sonce 1948.

He retired from Iowa Electric after 36 years.

Mr. PORTER was actively involved with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years. Camping and traveling were among his favorite past times (sic) before and after retirement.

Mr. PORTER's three children: Vicky, Rick and David; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren, surprised him with a birthday party, with friends and relatives coming from Connecticut, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Georgia and Iowa.
