Page 3, Column 5MERRIMAC, Sept. 17 -- Quite a few attended the Homecoming at Burlington. We wish to especially mention one. Mrs. Margaret McGUIRE was one of the early settlers of Burlington, coming there in 1834, with her father from Quincy, Ill., when a small girl. She is now 80 years of age. She met her brother, William ROSS, there. He came from Hutchison, Kans., and is three years older than she is. He came to Burlington in 1833. They met only one man that they knew then. She greatly enjoyed the trip, viewing the scenes of her younger days.
