The old John WINSELL farm was sold recently to I. T. FLINT. It contained 160 acres and brought $30 per acre.... Mr. WINSELL took possession of this farm as a government claim the spring of 1837 and it is claimed that he was the second actual settler in Jefferson County. He lived here continuously until his death last fall, leaving six children to survive him.

Note: John WINSELL is buried in Winsell Cemetery. His wife was Charlotte NOGGLE who died in 1871.
