NEWLON turning 100

Mary "Margaret" NEWLON of Fairfield is turning 100 years old Wednesday.

Mrs. NEWLON was born March 2, 1011, in Kirkwood, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Edna STEVENSON RUSK. She and husband Willis NEWLON, now deceased, are longtime Fairfield residents.

Mrs. NEWLON has one daughter, Mary E. FLEIG of Fairfield, and one son, Robert NEWLON, deceased. She also has three brothers, Fred RUSK of Parker, Ariz., and John RUSK and Dale RUSK, both deceased. Additionally, she has five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She worked at the Jefferson County Hospital for several years and is a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield.

The family of Mrs. NEWLON is hosting an open house to celebrate her birthday from 2-4 p.m. March 5 at SunnyBrook Living Care Center.
