WAGLER

Mark and Pam WAGLER, along with Pam's sister Jeannette RICHARDSON and the campout greeter, Jake, pulled into Morris Park in Van Buren County in the early afternoon of Sept. 13 and began setting up camp.

Donald and Betty WAGLER and Betty's sister, Irene, arrived Sept. 14.

The group was joined by Rodney and Betty WALLMAN, Rob and Darla CHADDOCK, and Mike and Eileen THURMAN on Sept. 16.

Most of the other campers who had waited until the weekend arrived Sept. 17. A new feature at the campout this year was a large tipi, owned by Dave and Linda THROCKMORTON. Their son, Brian POGGEMILLER of Texas, helped erect the conversation piece and slept comfortably during his stay.

A dual baby shower was held Sept. 18 for Josh and Missy DEAN and their new arrival, Trinity, and for Gary and Sarah WAGLER, who are expecting in November. After the shower, the Saturday night chili dump was prepared. Betty WAGLER made her highly requested potato soup and Dave and Linda THROCKMORTON brought ham and bean soup. As soon as the meal was finished, the rain came. Luckily, the rain didn't last long, and those in attendance were soon sitting around the campfire again.

On the morning of Sept. 19, the group breakfast was moved to the shelter house due to heavy fog. Those who had to leave and head home did so reluctantly, but a few people remained to enjoy another few days of peace and quiet.

This year, the "Linger Longers" were Mark and Pam WAGLER, Jeannette RICHARDSON, Rob and Darla CHADDOCK, and Donald and Betty WAGLER.

Drop-ins included Josh, Missy and Trinity DEAN, Mount Pleasant; Sarah WAGLER, Fort Madison; Oran and Darlene WAGLER, and Candy and Jace DEAN, Burlington; Dennis and Brenda WAGLER, Rolla, Mo.; Les and Kathie LOYD, and Derek, Tera, Syndi, Carson, Payson, Cooper and Keagyn COLEMAN, New London; Dave and Linda THROCKMORTON, Keosauqua; Seth GRABER, Omaha, Neb.; Jim and Deanne GRABER, and Hillary MILO, Bettendorf; Sherry WEHRMAN, Woody SWARTZ, John APLARA, and Teresa MATHIAS, Fairfield.
