PEACOCKs to celebrate 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Wendell PEACOCK of Douds will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a private family dinner.

Dolores Imogene HOOTMAN and Wendell Warner PEACOCK were married at Oak Grove Church, rural Douds, on May 29, 1960, with the Rev. David Pease officiating.

Mr. PEACOCK is retired from farming and the US Postal Service. He served for 21 years as Douds Postmaster. Mrs. PEACOCK is retired from Van Buren Community Schools, where she taught elementary school for 40 years.

The PEACOCKs have one daughter: Karoline THORNSBERRY and husband David of Milton. They have four grandchildren.
