GORMAN to celebrate 100th birthday

Marie GORMAN of Fairfield will be turning 100 on March 15. GORMAN and her family plan to celebrate semi-privately on March 28.

Mrs. GORMAN was born west of Batavia in Wapello county to parents Jesse and Nellie LOY.

Mrs. GORMAN married Charley GORMAN on her birthday in 1929. They lived in Jefferson County on a farm near her parents until retirement. The GORMANs were married 67 years until Mr. GORMAN's passing in 1996.

Mrs. GORMAN has three children, Loy (Helen) GORMAN of Montrose, Co., and Ruth (Newell, deceased) LEAZER and LuAnn (Jerry) DAVIS of Fairfield. She also has nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
