FAIRFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1948

The Fairfield High School class of 1948 celebrated its 60th reunion Oct. 4 with 50 people in attendance.

Meeting at the Walton Club Oct. 3 for dinner and social time were 22 individuals. A banquet was held at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Best Western Fairfield Inn with social time and a picture taken of the 32 classmates attending. The dinner blessing was given by the Rev. Paul REEDER. Harold JOHNSON presided as master of ceremonies. Madelene UNKRICH SCHERTZ presented a memorial for the 50 deceased classmates. Delbert MENKE sang the song "Memories" to honor the classmates.

Each classmate introduced themselves and their spouses or guests. Announcements were made, and seven burgundy mum plants were given as door prizes. Booklets for each plant were prepared by Kathryn Johnson Disney.

Classmates attending from out of town were Dick and Pat HEATER of Keosauqua; Lucille MACY STEPHENSON of Williamsburg; Paul and Donna REBLING of Mount Pleasant; Paul BROWN of Mesa, Ariz.; Laverne and Virginia GREENFIELD of Bettendorf; Alice McCARTY MASON and friend LaVerna Wyle of Mountain Home, Ark.; Paul REEDER of Billings, Mont.; Joan ZILLMAN JOHNSON and Harold JOHNSON of Albuquerque, N.M.; Kenneth and Gay SMITH of Crystal, Minn.; Madelene UNKRICH SCHERTZ and Delbert SCHERTZ of Ottumwa; Edward and Joan BURNETT of Midway, Ark.; Kenneth SAMUELSON of Rock Island, Ill.; Arlys HOLMS HENDRICKS and husband Bill of DeWitt; Jennabelle WEST DUNN of Palatine, Ill.; Delbert and Marty MENKE of Davenport; Dodie GANTZ JEROME and Bill JEROME of Fort Madison.

Attending from Fairfield were Lee CREW, Marilyn BRADFIELD FENTON and David FENTON, Barbara RAIL SMITH and Wayne SMITH, Eunice DeKALB LANTZ and Donald LANTZ, Joan SIMMONS LEE, guest Martha Kurka, Anna WHEATLEY BRENNAMON, Charlotte COEN LENHART, Evelyn LAWSON CLINGAN, Gene and Helen BUCH, Beverly ELMORE SCHRUM and Jim SCHRUM; Lavon BOOS HOSTETLER, Wayne and Martha YARGUS, Doris BEAUCHAMP JOHNSTON, guest Shirley Miller, Ernest and Wilma McCREEDY.

Individuals were in attendance from Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Texas and Nebraska.
