Bob and Ann McNEW will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 25 with a card shower.
Robert McNEW and Ann PECK were married Oct. 25, 1958, at St. Joseph's Church in East Pleasant Plain. Parents of the couple are the late Ray and Thelma McNEW of Fairfield and Maxine and the late Joseph PECK of Fairfield.
They have three children: Doug and wife Charlotte of Ames, Sheri McNEW of Lexington, Ky., and Curt and wife Nancy of Dayton, Ohio. The couple has three grandchildren.
Mr. McNEW is a retired athletic director, football coach, and physical education teacher at Crestwood High School. He also coached football and taught physical education at South Winneshiek High School, Lea College in Albert Lea, Minn., Maquoketa, and Humboldt. He is a graduate of Fairfield High School and Parsons College. He earned a masters degree at the University of Northern Colorado.
Mrs. McNEW is retired from teaching first grade and reading at Cresco Elementary, Notre Dame Elementary and Spillville Elementary for the South Winneshiek School District. She is a graduate of Pleasant Plain High School in Pleasant Plain and Luther College in Decorah.
They reside in Bella Vista, Ark., and are active in church leadership, church choir, bowling, cards and golf.
