Out of the Past in Pictures

Eunice DeKALB LANTZ submitted this 1948 photo showing Fairfield High School students crowding around the No. 1 bus. The bus was the very first one bought by the school district and traveled each day starting from Germanville to Salina and finally to Fairfield. The students in the picture were from various graduating classes and were on the No. 1 bus route. Students, from left, are: front row, Dorothy ANDERSON, Joyce ANDERSON, Joan JOHNSON, Delores JOHNSON, Anna Mae REBLING, Verlina NORTH, Pat GILBERT, Dolores KURTZ, Janet WITTMER, Emma RUBEY, Lydia HINKLE, Kenny PAUL, Paul REBLING and Alva ESHELMAN. Students in the back row are Betty CRILE, Lois CRILE, Barbara ANDERSON, Thelma SCHAFER, Eunice DeKALB, Paul ENGWALL, Charles RUBEY and Ken ANDERSON.
