Gary and Kathy HOSKINS of Iowa City will celebrate their 40th anniversary Saturday. The couple grew up in Fairfield and was married June 21, 1968, at the Fairfield Methodist Church.
Mr. HOSKINS is the son of Hubert HOSKINS and Leona WELCH. He was employed with the Iowa State Patrol for 33 years and retired as a major in 2005.
Mrs. HOSKINS is the daughter of the late William and Marilyn COURTNEY. She retired from Whitfield and Eddy Law Firm, Des Moines, in 2004.
Through the years, their jobs took them to Tipton, Cherokee, Des Moines and Mount Pleasant. They retired and lived at the Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., for several years. In 2007, they moved back to Iowa to be near their grandchildren.
The couple has three children: Matt of Radcliffe, Marc of Bettendorf, and Melissa of Parker, Colo. They have three grandchildren.
