“Jefferson County Records,” by Orville & Mary Prill, Vol. 7, page 171.

Roster of Iowa Civil War Soldiers shows that Charles F. STARR was 36 when enlisted Aug 14 1862. Residence, Glendale; nativity, Sweden. He was taken prisoner Aug 12 1863, Black River, Miss.; died of disease while a prisoner Aug 12 1864; buried Grave 5410, Andersonville (Georgia) National Cemetery.
