October 8, 1936AN ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING
JOHN F. DROZ
Democratic Candidate
For
County Attorney
Of Jefferson County, IowaJohn F. Droz is the fourth generation of an unbroken line whose ancestry on both his father’s and mother’s side were pioneer settlers of Jefferson County. His father, the late Frank M. Droz was a retail hardware and coal dealer in Fairfield for 28 years and whose illness necessitated in John leaving his law studies at Harvard University in 1930 and taking charge of his father’s interests which he managed successfully until 1932, when he disposed of the business and resumed work at Harvard from which he graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Laws.
Following his graduation he was admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts which was granted only after one of the most rigid examinations of any state in the Union, in which only twenty-six per cent of the law graduates taking the examination passed. Following that he was admitted to the Iowa bar. Since then he practised one year in the courts of Boston, Mass., as attorney for several large insurance companies, where he gained considerable experience in trial work and in the disclosing of frauds and dishonesty in Insurance claims.
In order to be nearer home and practise in Iowa he resigned his eastern connections and entered the law office of W.G. Henke, State Commander of the American Legion, with headquarters in Charles City, Iowa, where he was again plunged into important work that has even called him to the west coast in the course of his duties. He now practises law in Fairfield, with an office at 104 S. Main Street.
His wide range of experience has made him acquainted with the necessity of keeping the over-head cost down to a minimum, which experience and ability will serve him well in administering the office of County Attorney.
He is now thirty years of age, at his best and is interested in lowering the taxes and costs of conducting the office of County Attorney at the least possible expense to the taxpayers; and at the same time enforcing the law to its maximum.
John F. Droz solicits your support as a candidate for the office of County Attorney on the Democratic ticket on a platform of Experience, Efficiency, Economy and a long family interest and loyalty to the County, State and Nation.
