CHARLES F. GEORGE... born in Oswego, New York, May 15, 1832, son of Joel and Elizabeth (STEBBINS) GEORGE, natives of New York and Massachusetts respectively. The mother died in Bloomington, Ill., in 1865, and the father died in 1887 in the home of his son Charles....

On Feb. 12, 1861, in his present home Mr. GEORGE was united in marriage to Miss Esther A. MENDENHALL, daughter of Daniel and Susanna (PIERCE) MENDENHALL, who had six children: Esther, now Mrs. GEORGE; Sarah Jane, widow of C.C. MORRIS, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Louis, living in Fairfield; Mrs. Ella MOUNT, deceased; Anna, wife of John GARD, of St. Louis, Mo.; Laura, who died at the age of 18 years.... Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE have but one child, Dr. Edward GEORGE of Chicago....
