Note: The name McELDERRY appears on tombstones in Evergreen Cemetery.

Private John Randolph McELDERRY enlisted in Co. E, 2nd Iowa Volunteer Infantry Regiment, May 6, 1861; mustered out July 12, 1865, at Louisville, Ky.. Born at Carrollton, Ohio, in 1840, came with his parents to Fairfield in 1857; died in Fairfield Sept. 4, 1914. Married, Jan. 1, 1864, while home on a furlough, Miss Isabella FRUSH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry FRUSH. Children....
