A PORTRAIT OF FATHER JUNKIN ("Des Moines Register and Leader", Jan. 9th)
The sons of the late W. W. JUNKIN of Fairfield presented to the State Historical Department yesterday an oil portrait of their father... (long article). Curator Aldrich of the Historical Department highly prizes the portrait of this veteran Iowa journalist who found time to devote to every good work with which the history of Iowa is replete. This portrait is the work of Harry G. SHRINER, the well known Fairfield portrait and landscape painter. It is a faithful picture of the good man it represents and competent critics pronounce it a work of art. Mr. SHRINER has received many congratulations on the excellence he has shown in this painting.
