"Fairfield Ledger", Dec. 8, 1864, Pg. 4, Col. 1

MRS. WOODS HEARD FROM. A report is rife throughout the country that Mrs. WOODS with all her freight for the soldiers was lost by the sinking of a steamboat. We are happy to correct this report by stating that Mrs. WOODS has been heard from. She wrote a letter from Cairo on the 28th ult., in which she stated she had just got all the supplies on board a boat and was about starting for the 19th (Iowa Vol. Inf. Reg.). Three members of the 19th were detailed to assist her. She was in good health and spirits.
