RETURNED: The soldier's friend, Mrs. WOODS, returned home last week. She arrived at Little Rock on a Monday, and the boys had just received orders to prepare to march. She distributed her comforts and the boys enjoyed themselves on Tuesday on the good things sent them by their friends. They packed their haversacks with the articles.
On Wednesday morning as they marched out Mrs. WOODS stationed herself and as the boys passed she gave each one three apples, informing them that they were given by Mr. Philander CHANDLER. The boys received the apples and they gave three cheers for Mr. CHANDLER. The cheers were repeated again and again.
