October 5, 1945WANDA MAE BARTON BECOMES BRIDE OF MR. JOE WESLEY
An impressive wedding ceremony was solemnized at the Round Prairie Baptist church, Saturday evening, Sept. 29, at eight o'clock, when Miss Wanda Mae Barton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Barton, became the bride of Joe Wesely, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wesley of Trenton. The Rev. Green, pastor of the Baptist church, read the double ring ceremony. Preceding the candle light ceremony, Mrs. Ivan Byczek gave a recital of favorite music chosen by the bride and groom. Immediately before the bridal party entered the sanctuary, Mrs. Mary Praddock of Chicago, aunt of the groom, sang "Ave Maria" and during the ceremony she sang very softly "I Love You Truly."
Promptly at 8 o'clock Mrs. Byczek played the wedding march. First entered Mrs. Richard Moyle, sister of the bride as matron of honor, who wore a floor length dress of pink jersey and net. She wore a shoulder corsage of roses and asters.
Next came the flower girl, little Linda Lou Moyle, assisted by Sandra Lea McElwee. They both wore floor length dresses of pink net. They carried a silver basket of pink rose petals.
Then came the bride who was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white gown of net over satin. Her finger-tip veil ws held in place with orange blossoms. Her only jewelry was a beautiful necklace given her by the groom. She carried a white lace handkerchief, a gift of Mrs. Praddock. Her boquet of red roses and white asters.
The bridgroom, who wore a grey suit with white boutonniere, was attended as best man by his brother, George Wesely, who wore a brown suit with white boutonniere.
The ushers were Wesley Barton, brother of the bride, Charles Wesely, brother of the groom, and Billy McElwee. All wore white asters as boutonnieres.
The bride's mother chose for her daughter's wedding a street length dress of black with black acessories. The groom's mother also wore black. Both had corsages of white asters and red roses.
Following the ceremony a reception for seventy guests was held at the bride's home. The dining room table was beautiful with the three tier white wedding cake as center piece and with pink and white tapers on either side. After the bride and groom cut the traditional first piece of cake, Mrs. Thomas McElwee, Mrs. Everett McElwee, Mrs. Dale Barton and Mrs. Fred McWilliams served the refreshments.
For going away the bride wore a fuschia colored suit with black accessories. Returning on Sunday they left on Wednesday for Richmond, California where Mr. Wesely is employed as a machinist in Kaiser shipyards. He has been employed there for the past three years, and Mrs. Weseley for two years as a pipe welder.
They will be at home at 4631 Stockton Ave. in Richmond.
