ADAM F. RAUSCHER, born in Koenigsbach, Amt Durlach, grand duchy of Baden, Germany, on July 4, 1842, son of Adam F. and Salme (Frantz) Rauscher.....In August 1870, Mr. Rauscher was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Kintz, daughter of Christian and Barbara (Molis) Kintz, also natives of Germany. The father emigrated to the U.S. in 1836, first locating in Columbus, Ohio, where he remained four years. In 1840 he came to Jefferson County and entered land in Walnut township; died 4 May 1892; the mother died in September 1897.
To Adam F. and Katherine (Kientz) Rauscher, eight children:
1-Frederick William, residing in Lockridge;
2-Ernest Theo, farming in Lockridge Township;
3-Martha R., m. Henry Achenbach, farmer of Iowa County;
4-Henry M., implement dealer in New London, Iowa;
5-Herman R., same business in Mount Sterling, Iowa;
6-Karl L., harness dealer in New London, Iowa;
7-Christian A., Mgr. of Lumber Company of German Valley, Ill.
8-Bertha C., born and died 1877
German Lutherans.
