"GORSUCH, W. H., clerk at Throne's; born Feb. 18, 1822 in Huntingdon Co., Penn.; moved to Ottumwa in 1866; held the office of City Clerk; m. Eliza J. Booher; 3 children, Clara H., Jennie and Gertie. Was Clerk under Gen. Burnside in the Commissary Dept., Washington City, during the first two years of the war."
