I found a notice of George Gipe's death, but no obituary.

The death notice says,
"Services are pending at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax for George Gipe, 76, of Mingo.

He died today, Aug. 6, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines." ~ Newton Daily News, August 6, 1997, page 2.

My guess is that the obituary is in the Colfax newspaper. I tried searching for the paper on line but couldn't find it.

You might try the funeral home or the
Colfax Public Library - (515) 674-3625 - 25 W Division St, Colfax, IA 50054
