There are a total of 13 Carey people buried in Jasper County. Cemetery records for names requested are:

CAREY, George 18 Feb 1855 – 03 Dec 1878
CAREY, William . 25 June 1827 – 09 Mar 1904
EARLEY, Alice Carey 1870 – 1951
EARLEY, Loftus F. 1880 – 1945

Also found a Jasper County Iowa Death Certificates Indexed by the State Historical Society Library (IA) (http://www.iowahistory.org/archives/holdings/index.html) for:
Scott, Mary b. 07 May 1862 in Ohio; d. 11 Feb. 1931 in Jasper Co.; mother’s maiden name was Dawson

Births found:
Scott, Mary Josephine b. 24 Sep 1886 in Malaka twp., parents: Scott, J. P. and Carey, Mary
Scott, Ruby Fern b. 21 Apr 1892* in Baxter; parents: Scott, John P. (35, b. IA) and Carey, Mary (30, b. OH)

Ruby was in the JC birth book 2 with a birth date of 12 April 1892 and in the JC delayed birth book with a date of 21 Apr 1892. The delayed births were often used for corrections and/or unfilled births.

Old newspaper article about subscribers (date unknown)–do not know if this is your William.
W. T. Carey, of Baxter was born in Washington Co., Penn., 56 years ago. Landed in Keokuk, Iowa, Dec. 21, 1853, from Guernsey county, Ohio. Worked for a time in Keokuk, came to Newton March 8th, 1854. Have taken an abolition or Republican paper continuously for 45 years and have been a subscriber to the county papers ever since the first was started.
