Searching for info on the family of Chas. DANIEL(s) and his wife Eliz. THOMAS, both b. in Virginia, m. in Rockbridge Co, VA in 1841 (with Chas. W. McDaniel as his name then), lived Pike Co., Mo in 1850 & 1860 census, in Buena Vista Twp, Jasper Co in 1870, wife Eliz in Prairie City with her dau Susan Linccuum (?) in 1880 census. A Charles M Daniel is listed in Colfax cemetery, and Eliz's obit states she is buried there. A lookup from a wonderful volunteer tells me that the Colfax Cem. stone for Chas. M. Daniel states he d. "01 June 1875, aged 36Y 26D" and the stone in same plot is illegible. The illegible stone could be Eliz, tho she d. 9 years after Chas according to her obit. The age on the stone suggests that Chas was b. May 1839, however his child Robert Woodson Daniel was b. 1843, and census rec put Chas (Sr) b. c1818. They did have a son Chas. M b. c1844. Are there cemetery records from this far back to help sort out who might be buried here? I am also still looking for his obit, or from the younger Chas. if that is who is buried in Colfax Cem. I also have a variety of names of children from a family bible, but they do not match well with census names, unless middle names were used. One of the dau, Nancy Jane, m. Joseph S. Culbertson and they lived in Jasper for a while before moving to Nebraska. Would like to exchange info with anyone following these lines or knowledgeable about them.
