Griffis, D. A.

Prairie City - Tuesday afternoon the people of our little city again gathered to pay the last sad tribute of respect to another citizen. D. A. Griffis, who has been failing in health for months, started last Tuesday night a week ago for California.

A little after noon Friday, and on the train he died, away from home and loved ones with only his nurse that knew him. Alone did I say, no not alone for he had found the Savior who has said He would go with him through the "valley and shadow of death."

Rev. Shea spoke comfortingly from 1st Thess. 4:13. Brother B. Wilkinson assisted in the services. The floral gifts from the young men were a profusion of lilies, elegant in design. By this death another home is broken, a wife and two little girls mourn a husband and father.

My sister weep not for your loved one
Remember he now is at rest.
But think of the joy that awaits you
When reunited in the land of the blest.
