WINPIGLER, BINKERD, MOFFITT

(Special to the Daily News) COLFAX – Byron (Barney) Winpigler, son of Mary and William Winpigler, was born in Warren County, Iowa, November 6, 1870 and died at his home in Colfax, June 6, 1944.

In early boyhood his family came to Jasper County and have lived here continuously since that time. He became a member of the Christian church in early life and was employed as deliveryman for the Colfax Mercantile company for several years. He was also employed by the same company in Seevers as meat cutter.

In 1910 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Lulu Binkerd.

He was streets commissioner in Colfax for many years before his retirement to his home in the east edge of Colfax where he resided until the time of his death at the age of 73 years and seven months.

He is survived by his wife; one brother, Lee Winpigler; two nieces Verda Winpigler and Faith Moffitt; three step sons, Ivan, Chester and Maynard Binkerd and nine grandchildren, all of Colfax.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church with the Rev. Leon Triggs officiating.

Music was by Mrs. Earl Plummer, Mrs. Ruth Williams and Mrs. George Rinker.

Mrs. Wayne Stroup and Mrs. George Rinker were in charge of the flowers.

Pallbearers were Ralph Cummings, Fred Boatwright, John Hahn, Tom Hughes, William Jickling and Bert Lawton.
